Bluejay Luxury Restaurant and Bar Interior Design
When the world paused, Elephanto pushed forward.
In 2020, amidst lockdowns and international travel bans, our team took on a bold challenge—conceptualizing and remotely executing a large-format hospitality project in Cardiff, UK. The result is Blue Jay Bar & Kitchen, a 300-seater destination that effortlessly blends a vibrant pub, a stylish sports bar, and a refined fine dining experience—all under one unified design narrative.
This project wasn’t just a feat of design. It was a masterclass in virtual collaboration, cross-cultural adaptation, and precision without presence.
🍃 Design Philosophy: A Symphony of Themes
Inspired by nature’s transitions, Blue Jay’s interior journey unfolds like a story—from grounded earth textures to lush forest tones and serene oceanic elegance. Each zone within the space is designed to evoke a different mood and cater to distinct dining experiences.
🏙️ Ground Floor – Pub & Bar (P1 & P2)
Rich in texture and warmth, the Earth Zone draws from natural elements—tan leatherette, Sheesham wood, and hazel-toned rock tiles. This level is high on energy and personality, amplified by mood lighting, high-top bar tables, and custom seating ideal for casual, extended socializing.
🌿 First Floor – Casual Dining (R1 & R2)
The forest zone transitions into deep greens, forest-inspired decor, and intimate seating arrangements. Furniture crafted with calm, natural enclosures offers guests a quiet escape from the bar’s vibrance, creating an atmosphere perfect for lunch meetups or relaxed evening meals.
🌊 Upper Floor – Fine Dining (R3 & R4)
The top-most zone is an ode to the ocean—navy blue upholstery, sparkle ivory flooring, and gentle lighting set the mood for refined, upscale dining. The forms are circular, the textures are light, and the experience is elevated, making it ideal for celebrations, date nights, or private gatherings.
🎨 Material-Driven Design
From Malibu clay flooring to sheesham wood furniture, every element of Blue Jay’s interior was purposefully selected to align with its thematic direction. Each zone transitions visually and emotionally with the help of color, texture, and layout strategies.
🔊 Multi-Zone Experience
Whether you're catching the game at the bar, having a cozy meal with friends, or indulging in fine dining, Blue Jay offers a tailored environment. Lighting, acoustics, and space layouts ensure seamless transitions from one vibe to the next.
🌐 Remote Execution, Local Impact
Designed in India, executed in the UK—Blue Jay demonstrates how effective communication, detailed renders, sample sharing, and virtual site walkthroughs can deliver quality without compromise. Despite no physical visits, the project was completed on time and on brand.
